UJA Mitzvah Month

A model program for service

A Picture of UJA-Federation Members

UJA-Federation of New York launches its 2008 Mitzvah Month, joining Jewish agencies and organizations around the country in the month-long, Jewish Social Action Month global initiative to promote both social action (“tikkun olam”) and Jewish peoplehood. UJA-Federation’s Mitzvah Month and Jewish Social Action Month occur in the Hebrew month of Cheshvan, which this year coincides with November.

The UJA-Federation of New York 2008 Mitzvah Month activities are initiated under the aegis of UJA-Federation¹s Volunteer and Leadership Development Division, Women’s Philanthropy, and Council on Jewish People. The goal of all of these Mitzvah Month efforts is to engage thousands of people of all ages, from all professions, throughout the UJA-Federation region to engage in mitzvah activities primarily here in the New York area.
