replacing them with native varieties. The 200+ bushes & trees we will plant will
not only increase the aesthetic value of the park, but they will also attract wildlife

Event Description: The N.Y. Columbia Muddy Buddy race is one of 18 races
conducted nationally to benefit the Challenged Athletes Foundation. The event consists
of a 6-mile, 2-person team trail running and mountain bike race with various obstacles
along the course with a mud pit at the end. This event utilizes approximately 80
volunteers who are invaluable to its success. We prefer to work with local non-profit
groups to help them use this event as a fundraiser (we give $20 per teen and $25
per adult), but we welcome anyone who would like to join us for a day of fun in
the sun. Volunteers will be assisting with registration, course obstacles, the mud
pit, and other misc. tasks.

Event Description: Genesee County AmeriCorps, RSVP and the Emergency Management
Office are collaborating to host a local event on the September 11 National Day
of Service and Remembrance, encouraging people to Remember, Prepare and Volunteer.
Funding is being provided by the Genesee Region Citizen Corps Council. Local emergency
response organizations and other service agencies will gather together to distribute
information, answer questions and recruit volunteers. Fire trucks and other emergency
vehicles will be on display and demonstrations of emergency equipment will take
place. Bring the family to meet those who are already serving, learn how to prepare
for emergencies, and explore volunteer opportunities.
